How to use an adjective

Let's try with this adjective: όμορφος -η -ο

The ending -ος changes according to the gender:

- into a -η for feminine

- into a -ο for a neutral item

Examples:

αυτός είναι όμορφος / αυτή είναι όμορφη / αυτό είναι όμορφο

He/she/it is beautiful

εσύ είσαι όμορφη / εσύ είσαι όμορφος

You are beautiful (to a woman / man)

το σπίτι είναι όμορφο

The house is beautiful (neutral)

Then for the plural, the ending of the adjective turns:

- into a -οι for masculine

- into a -ες for feminine

- into a -α for a neutral item

Some examples.

εμείς είμαστε όμορφες / εσείς είστε όμορφες / αυτές είναι όμορφες

(about women)

εμείς είμαστε όμορφοι / εσείς είστε όμορφοι / αυτοί είναι όμορφοι

(about men)

A very few adjectives that were brought from abroad are invariable.

αυτή είναι σέξυ - she is sexy

αυτός είναι σέξυ - he is sexy
