What's the case

Modern greek has 4 cases. The case indicates which role is played by a noun in the sentence.

- Nominative: subject of the sentence
- Genitive: owner or origin
- Accusative: (direct or indirect) object of the verb
- Vocative: used to call someone

Note: The verb 'to be' is also followed by the nominative case.
